DTS was founded in 1986 by Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Homer Petitt, Jr.; President and Chief Operating Officer, Brian K. Petitt; and Secretary-Treasurer, Mrs. Ada F. Petitt. Prior to Mr. Petitt's journey into the small business arena, he served 28 years in the armed forces. His distinguished military career, for which he received numerous awards and decorations for exemplary service, culminated with his promotion to Colonel. Upon his retirement, Mr. Petitt joined an information technology company as a Senior Program Manager, and later served in the position of Executive Vice President in another corporation.
Mr. Petitt is a native of Texas and a graduate of Prairie View A&M University (B.S. — Business Administration) and the University of Southern California (M.S.).
